An English translation of an administrative document regarding drone regulations in Japan has been released.
It includes the standard manual to use when applying for flight permission and flight guidelines.
Aviation laws restrict drone flight to 100g or more, which is strict by global standards, and there are many complex and strange aspects to the regulations, such as drones being used arbitrarily for specific purposes.

We often see foreign tourists visiting Japan taking commemorative photos with drones, but since it is likely that they are not going through the necessary procedures, we have compiled materials released by the Civil Aviation Bureau.
